Tilt Cafe & Sports Bar`s 1st ever BATTLE OF THE BANDS! The competition is open to all bands, with £300 for the winners, and £150 for the runner up. Format - Each Band will each play a short set. After all bands have played, the audience will vote for their favourite. After our headline act (tbc) have finished their set, the winner will be announced. For the spectators - All are welcome to come along and enjoy the jam-fest - YOU ARE THE JUDGES! The audience will voting for the winner, the only rule is that all spectators MUST be aged 18+, and bring ID if you look under 21 years of age. For the bands - If you are in a band and interested in taking part, please send us a message via our facebook page, or email to gailmiscwork@hotmail.co.uk​ with a contact name, telephone number, band name & genre played. All genres will be considered, and the participating bands will be announced 4 weeks before the event. If any of your band members are under 18 years of age, please advise us of this, and if you make the line-up we will advise of the strict rules that apply to minors playing at our venue. If we find that bands have not been honest about the age of any of their band members, they will be instantly disqualified - all band members will be ID`d upon entry! Ideamotion (Band)
Tom Boland and Brian Kelly began their song writing partnership in cult Dublin band The Beautiful Losers. The initial sound pulsated with the raw energy of grunge and the melodic intensity of Buckley. The combination took off with the bands debut single raiding the Irish top thirty. As the song writing matured the duo decided London was the place to nurture it. Jamie Desogus and Robert Hennebry completed the new line up. Bringing their rock and folk influences from the music they all listened to in their formative years and combining it with their own instinctual musical sensibilities, Ideamotion’s contagious and individual sound was born. With a hunger to succeed and a hard work ethic the band entered the studio with Brian O Shaughnessy (My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream.) within a couple of months. Staying true to their honest, grassroots approach the band wanted to bring their music to the masses. But instead of waiting for the mountain to come to them they went to the mountain, by quitting their jobs, moving into Moo their yellow ‘surprisingly comfortable’ transit van and traveling across the UK. Now having garnered music appreciators from across the UK on their tour and reeking general good natured havoc on unsuspecting communities- Ideamotion are ready to unleash their debut ep “The fear, the rush, the fall”. ... more
New Device (Band)
New Device are a hard rock band from South East England, UK. Influenced by the stadium rock giants of the late 80’s and early 90’s such as Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith and Metallica, New Device manage to achieve a sound where so many others fail: authentic, solid, blues based hard rock, written by real life long fans of rock music. New Device was formed in London, England, in October 2007. Each member had previously met or played in bands with one another enjoying success releasing music internationally and touring with the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For A Friend and My Chemical Romance, and although New Device is in its infancy, they have without a doubt earned their stripes on road. The band almost immediately entered the studio on October 2007 to record four tracks with Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral for a Friend, Bullet For My Valentine) at Long Wave Studio, Cardiff. Over the course of a week they produced future hits - On Fire, Never Say Never, Heaven Knows and Takin’ Over. These recordings quickly gained interest and they were swiftly signed to Powerage Records. They began the recording of their debut album in June 2008, at Outhouse Studios, Reading, UK, with long term friend Ryan Richards of Funeral for a Friend behind the drum kit. Mixing duties were handled stateside in Los Angeles by Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Tenacious D, Godsmack). With high hopes and an album full of songs that have the potential to pioneer a new rock movement, the band is now ready to start taking care of business and hit road, bringing a stadium like presence to wherever they play.... more

The venue has a late license until 06.30am (yes in the morning) You can hire the club exclusively, ready to operate just like a nightclub, from Monday to Friday. It is fully staffed, with security, complete audio and lighting systems and fully stocked bars. You can supply your own DJ or we can recommend a local one. You can make use of the flexible space exactly how you want and create the perfect party atmosphere from 100 to 300 guests. (www.boobaid.org) Boobaid, quite simply is all about Boobs, the Music and the Aid from the proceeds, all contributing towards the great work of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity! The 2009 Boobaid is to be held at the brilliant live venue, The Klondyke, in Royston, Barnsley, on Saturday 3rd October, start time 5.00pm. Bringing you the best in top established, tribute and up and coming bands. This year is no exception; featuring a line up that consists of Frontier records artist and festival headliner, Dante Fox, the exceptional Tara’s Secret, new glam rock sensations Hollywood Tease, Birmingham rockers Kinn and local band Miss Demeanor. The evening will be hosted by Frontiers rock nights DJ Shaun who will also be manning the turntable between bands. The event is FREE from 5.00pm until 7.00pm, with a voluntary donation to be made at the door (be generous!). Thereafter admission charge of £2.00 apply.
