Vocalists wanted in Reading Vocalists are wanted in Reading as auditions for Open Mic UK, the national music talent competition for vocalists and solo artists in the UK, begin this summer. Vocalists are wanted in Reading as Open Mic UK, the competition that discovered Birdy and Hatty Keane, is searching for the UK’s best vocalists, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists. Reading vocalists are wanted as Open Mic UK is coming to Sub89, Reading on Sunday 16th September 2012. Ambershift (Band)
Dave Lord formed AMBERSHIFT in Jan 2007 as a new years resolution to get his act together. The name came from drinking sessions on the streets of Newcastle and the banks of the Tyne…
The original line up was Dave Lord on lead vocals and bass, Phil Hodgson on Drums with Andy Wright and Paul Moutter on guitars. This line up recorded a demo album which was sold at gigs in the winter of 2007 but was never released anywhere else. One track though, ‘Another Trigger’ featured on a north east Compilation CD called ‘Planet Durham’. This was released in 2008 on the Dot.45 label and seemed to get us noticed down South, particularity by record plugger Dylan White. He called us up as he was coming to Newcastle to do a music seminar so we met him on the way for a chat about the music biz in a Durham service station…
Gigs came and went including supporting the likes of Electric Six, Nine Black Alps, Kula Shaker, The Black Velvets, Soho Dolls and The Sea. The line up though changed with Andy and Paul leaving to be replaced by Andy Green on synths and Ben Clement on Guitar. With this new line up the band went into Base HQ studios in Newcastle and recorded their debut album in January 2009.
This is now being mixed by Chris Sheldon (Therapy, Feeder, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro) and will be released later this year.

Downright Liberty are a Bellac based blues rock pop covers band playing all your old favourites. When recorded music just won’t do, and you need a live band, we are available. For weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, party celebrations, birthdays, Christmas do, New Year bash.....in the Limousin and surrounding departments, France.
We play a wide range of music from 50s jazzy through 60s pop to 70s glam, onto 90s rock, and Downright Liberty! Our set list could be used for a pub quiz, it`s that diverse. To make your day more special, if you have a ‘special’ song that you’d like to hear, let us know and we’ll learn it.
For your security and peace of mind - All the band members are experienced seasoned players. All are house trained and have been socialized to an appropriate level. None have a criminal record!

THE THOROUGHBREDMUSIC STABLE - Artiste Management, agency, promotion, recording label.
As the name suggests, `Thoroughbredmusic` was founded by Adrian Collis, a respected licensee and music venue owner to further the careers of the incredible thoroughbred talent that he found was offering to play in his bars. This resulted in a collaboration with friend BILLY BRAGG and terminal cancer sufferer: MAXINE EDGINGTON who penned the song `We Laughed`, and the subsequent formation and management of The Rosetta Life Band to perform it. The song was a top 20 hit in 2005, with several live shows and TV shows including The 2005 `New Years Eve Live` BBC1 program, and raised a lot of money for The Rosetta Life charity.
Long term friend and STACKRIDGE frontman MUTTER SLATER has also became a member of The Thoroughbredmusic Stable, and have recently released the first MUTTER SLATER BAND CD: `Riding a Hurricane` to much music press acclaim, and subsequent tours. GW and TGTB are essentailly Van Morrsion`s band and all with a pedigree as long as your arm....from Dire Straits to Ray Charles!
