`young Bristol-based guitar wizard` - 5 best gigs - The Independent

James Hollingsworth has a unique, complex acoustic guitar style, reminiscent of Andalusian guitar as well as modern rock. An inspired singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a broad original repertoire, his constant touring has included Priddy Folk Fayre, Two Rivers Festival, the Bath Fringe Festival Spiegel Tent, and Bristol`s St Georges Hall, supporting Cara Dillon. Recently featured on BBC 6-Music with Tom Robinson, James entered the national press in The Independent`s 5 best gigs in 2007 when he also supported Hazel O`Connor.

As Front-man of rock act JEBO, he performed at Loreley (Germany) and The Royal Albert Hall (London), and his experience with their producer John Burns (Genesis, Jethro Tull + others), is showing in his own work as well as in producing the firebrand poet Xavier Panades, who`s making waves in his native Catalonia.

Influenced by John Martyn, Neil Young, Richie Havens, Roy Harper, Tim Buckley, Nick Drake, Jimi Hendrix, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bill Hicks, the Blues... James` dynamic sound fuses Folk, Blues, Progressive Rock, Jazz and even Trance with what can only be described as Acoustic Metal.

An independent 21st Century troubadour, James travels far and wide performing to a huge variety of audiences promoting cooperation, humour and positivity with “captivating professionalism”. With his custom-made `Song Map` in place of a traditional `set list`, James makes each gig unique, at times entirely original at others peppered with unlikely cover versions. He`s also played special shows spotlighting the music of his influences including a Tim Buckley tribute at the Spiegel Tent in Bath and a solo Pink Floyd night featuring the whole of Dark Side of the Moon.
