`Inspirational and colourful. Melissa`s music is of as many genres as there are of emotions, evoking sensitivity, harmony and passion in every song creating a story with instrumentation, heartfelt lyrics and exceptional vocal`.
Melissa is a female fronted four piece band covering a broad spectrum of styles, folk,rock,pop,jazz,country to name a few.With Melissa Sullivan - singer/songwriter, keyboards and flute. Dave Wilkes - on guitars, Dave Amey - on drums and Jerry Sharpe - on bass, they are currently gigging at many events along the south, large festivals and smaller venues. Melissa is receiving much local radio airplay and has had success from many internet sites through downloads and sales of EPs. Its great music for any event or venue,superb original material as well as covers with a twist. They can cater for most tastes, and ages, large venues and small.

Other Info: We have played to over 2000 people at festivals and large music fayres as well as smaller venues over the past 7 years.We have recieved local radio airplay on numerous occasions.Have recorded three eps of original tracks and hope to record an album or two soon.
We really love playing live as we sound great.

Saturday, 11th September 2010 Portswood One Big Family Fun Day
We will be playing through the day as well as a BBQ,stilt walkers,Bouncy Castle, Sumo suits and games,Hair brading,Raffle, Art corner,Dance, stands and stalls and much,much more.

We are in the process of organising our summer charity event. The aim of this charity event is bring together different communities and cultures within Portswood. This will be held in Portswood Recreation ground on September 11th 2010.

Portswood is made up of different cultures and the event is aimed at facilitating an integration of residents, students and local businesses. Portswood is a multiracial environment and one of our aims is to be aware of how we can support, develop vibrant cultures and the community. As well as enabling people to access information from a large range of statutory, voluntary and community services in order to promote social cohesion, equality and diversity. The event is a stepping stone to encourage people to become involved in their local community. This is NBSP’s first charity event and we hope that it will be successful to ensure it could be held every year.

The charity event will be called One Big Community Funday and it will feature activities and display for people of all age groups. There will be local food, live performances (ranging from martial arts to Indian dancing), pet corner, magic corner, bouncy castle, BBQ, face painting, hair braiding, police, fire service display and much more. Come and join the fun on the funday. Come and help! Get involved and meet new friends for life. This is for all of us, by all of us.

If you would like to volunteer to help in organising the event, help on the actual day, know of any groups that would like to perform at the funday or anyone else willing to help please get in contact with us at nsbpcommunity (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk

The event starts off at 10am and finishes around 5pm.

We usually play for 30 minutes from 11am, then 1pm.
