In Africa today, it is common to find many songs with lyrics in African languages backed by computerised sound that reflect foreign instrumentations. This is how the soul of our music is fast dying out.
This is not to suggest that African music cannot be played with contemporary advanced instruments. The issue at stake is that the negative effect of computer generated sound and the proliferation of sub-standard music have caused serious damage to the development of African music as a cultural identification. The result is that the present generation seems to have lost touch with authentic African music. There is no doubt that authentic African music is fading out. To get people to appreciate African gospel music SHILOH realized that the tones of the computer programmed sounds are not normally suited for indigenous African music but reflect mainly western type music. It is to reverse this trend and resuscitate authentic African music that Shiloh showcases in live performances authentic African gospel music fusions in 3 dimensions namely;
i. Fusion of contemporary African rhythms; in this vein Shiloh composes, arranges and performs authentic African songs backed by conventional instruments
ii. Fusion of contemporary African rhythms and authentic African rhythms in which Shiloh’s songs are backed by contemporary and indigenous African instruments
iii. Fusion of indigenous African rhythms in which Shiloh’s songs are backed solely by African instruments such as xylophone, Atenteben, Firikyiwa, Seprewa, Rattle, Gome, Jimbe, Multiple percussions etc. Shiloh has 21 artistes each with an album. So far Shiloh has launched 2 albums, which took place the same day, unprecedented in the history of music launch in Africa.
Style: shiloh showcases in live performances authentic African gospel music fusions in 3 dimensions namely;
i. Fusion of contemporary African rhythms; in this vein Shiloh composes, arranges and performs authentic African songs backed by conventional instruments
ii. Fusion of contemporary African rhythms and authentic African rhythms in which Shiloh’s songs are backed by contemporary and indigenous African instruments
iii. Fusion of indigenous African rhythms in which Shiloh’s songs are backed solely by African instruments such as xylophone, Atenteben, Firikyiwa, Seprewa, Rattle, Gome, Jimbe, Multiple percussions etc,




Other Info: There is a junior wing of Shiloh, which is Africa`s No.1 live Juvenile Gospel Band. Age of members ranges from 5-16 years. They also play the same style of Shiloh and have launched their maiden album.
