BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
The Dirty Stop-Outs formed in March 2016 in Cambridge, UK. Members include those of Freedom Faction, Murder Ballads, Inter City Crazy Train, Bastard Squad UK and The Avoiders, all successful bands in their own right. Collectively, the band has several decades of gigging and song writing experience.
Since their formation they have played a range of shows, including Strawberry Fair, Cambridge: numerous gigs at the 200 capacity Portland Arms in Cambridge, and the Pisdicables album launch in London, among others. They have consistently received positive feedback, and are now being actively approached for gigs on a regular basis. They have just released their first EP.
The Dirty Stop-Outs are a Six-piece, high energy, skankin` Cambridge-based Experimental Ska/Punk/Dub band, with diverse influences including PJ Harvey, King Tubby, Leftover Crack, Billy Bragg, Butthole Surfers, The Pixies, The Interrupters, The Selecter, Rancid, The Slackers, The Cat Empire, Gadjo, The Stranglers, Dave Brubeck Quartet, The Sonics, Killing Joke, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Manu Chao, X-Ray Spex and Bikini Kill, among many others.
Their overarching philosophy is to embrace multiple musical styles, and to produce music that they themselves would wish to dance to - especially in a festival setting. This approach has served them well, as evident from the large and ever-growing numbers of fans who enthusiastically attend their shows. Typical feedback from fans describes how they have enjoyed being `kept on their toes`, both in terms of the diversity of musical styles that they hear, and quite literally in their desire to keep dancing.
The band has been praised for their friendly, approachable nature: for actively engaging with audience members, technical staff/crew, and other artists: and for willingly assisting in whatever capacity they can to ensure the smooth running of events.
The Dirty Stop-Outs are available immediately for live shows and other opportunities, are able to travel, and can be contacted via email or phone.
